John&Micah::WeddingAlbum

It's always a little bitter sweet to get to the album side of weddings. While it's a relief to see all of my hard work pay off in a beautiful wedding album, it's also sad to see that my time with my fabulous clients is over (well, until they start having babies that is!). I recently sent John & Micah's wedding album off for print and thought I'd share a few spreads with you all. John & Micah were SO MUCH FUN to work with this last year and their wedding was absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy!

News...

I have been so swamped I have had like no time at all to add all of the super fun products I offer to my shopping cart. But I FINALLY did it y'all! :) So head over there...run don't walk...and check it out (go to my website, click on Client Log-In, then click on Products).

In other news, Jeremy doesn't work at Sharp's anymore! Can I get a hallelujah?!?! We are stepping out in faith b/c we know that God has something bigger and much better in store for him (details on that coming soon!). In the mean time Jeremy is being a super fab hubby and working for/with me this month! He is also in the middle of a ton of design projects (click on the link to the right to see his on-line portfolio) and playing his sweet heart out at church every weekend. Not to mention I have him doing like a million projects around the house. :) Who knew that not having a job could be so exhausting...haha.

I have two stellar weddings this weekend: Keely+Kyle and Micah+John. This is the biggest weekend of my wedding season! Check back soon for more photos from this summers weddings and sessions. Until then...

**EDIT::MY EVENT FOR SATURDAY AUGUST 9TH HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND I HAVE OPENED THAT DAY FOR FAMILY SESSIONS ETC. I ANTICIPATE THIS DAY FILLING UP FAST SO DON'T WAIT TO SCHEDULE YOUR SESSION!!!**

Katie::Workin 9-2-5

Before I head off to the hotel room next door to fall asleep with my little angel who is curled up dreaming of visiting "the castle" tomorrow...I wanted to share a bit of my fabulous hubby's handy work. As most of you already know, Jeremy is my designer. When it comes to Christmas cards, wedding albums, business cards, etc... Jeremy is the man behind the curtain. I tried my hand at the design thing and there came a point where I needed ask myself, "Lezlie are you a photographer or are you a designer?" Now some CAN do both and DO. Me??? Not so much. Maybe it has more to do with the fact that I just don't have the time. :) Anyhow, I shot some head-shots for my favorite Realtor in the whole wide world Katie Joy Wieck. Jeremy designed here some super fab new business cards. Have you ever seen a Realtor with cards like these??? Let me (or us) know what you think! Peace+Love.

KISS

Is not a kiss the very autograph of love? ~Henry Finck

I got my first KISS book on Tuesday! Simply put...it's HOT!!! I'm going to be ordering a ton of samples of these. I want one in every color! This one is called "Forbidden Green" and it looks GORGEOUS with Colleen & Dustin's images. I shot a few quick photos of it last night. You'd have to see it in person though. It's sick!!! :)

Amanda + Josh : Before & After

I thought I'd share a couple of "Before & Afters" from Amanda & Josh's engagement session. Also, I know Amanda is DYING to see her pics so here's a little teaser, Amanda! More from Amanda & Josh's session soon... ;)

For all you Photogs:
These are typical "Before & Afters". "Before(s)" are, of course, straight out of the camera. "Afters" are achieved by bumping up sharpness (I don't ever sharpen in camera), contrast, adding a little Photoshop action, and sometimes a light vignette. Sometimes I have a little bit more fun and add some texture or super saturation. These images were shot w/ my Canon 40D and 85mm 1.8, using available light.

Ephraim : Home Session

I love my job...I mean actually LOVE it. It's what I always wanted to do for a living. It's what I am truly passionate about. I don't ever see myself tiring of it. I just really really REALLY love my job. :)

I had so much fun with this session that I literally could not tear myself away from the computer. The Neagles are a super rad little family and I feel so privileged that they asked me to help them document their newborn's life. Ephraim looks just like his Daddy...no question. Btw, his Daddy is a rockstar. He's the "Neagle" part of Monk & Neagle. And the way he looks at his Mommy is the sweetest most endearing thing. Home sessions are really a favorite of mine (if not the favorite). This home session is in the running to being one of my favorites of the year (I know...it's only April!). Enjoy.

Colleen & Dustin : Album

Albums...they can be completely overwhelming for a photographer and couple. I was less than impressed with some of the leading wedding album companies, not b/c of their products, but mainly because there are TOO MANY choices and crap to figure out in the whole album process. There are so many cover options, sides, imprinting, sizes, flush mount, matted?!?!?! Do I offer all of that to my clients or just give them a hand full of options?!?!? And then comes calculating my cost which requires a lot of adding on the calculator and a few phone calls and/or emails to a rep to make sure I'm doing it right. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Now, obviously, these companies have a lot of photographers who love them otherwise they wouldn't be the "leading" album companies. I'm a girl of simplicity though. The easier it is on me the easier I can make it on my clients.

So, when I read about KISS on another photographer's blog I had to check them out. They have made the album ordering process a breeze! I placed my order for Colleen & Dustin's wedding album about a week ago, outsourcing the design to DoodleDo. I was able to do everything on the KISS website with just one click...album design, printing, and binding. I picked the size (10x10), number of spreads (20), the color (Forbidden Green!), uploaded the images, the fabulous designers at DoodleDo called me the next morning to chat about the design, and in like 3 days we had our first design to approve. One minor image change and the design is ready for print and bind. No guessing, no mystery, just STELLAR service and peace of mind.

Click here to see Colleen & Dustin's wedding album design. I can't wait to see the finished product...it's going to look fabulous! I'll take a few pictures and post the images once I get it in the studio. Peace + Love.

Textures

I've received some hate mail recently regarding my lack of posting. Haha! So I thought I'd share some stuff I'm currently working on. I have been working with textures recently and I think I like it. I messed around with a few images and thought I'd see what you all think. I might just include a few images with this kind of editing in each session. No too much b/c I think they can overwhelm a bit but they sure are a fun change of pace. Let me know what you think! Btw, I will blog more from each of these sessions soon...I promise. :)

Aden : 1st Birthday

I had so much fun shooting Aden back in September. So when his mom asked me to be there to capture his 1st birthday I was super stoked. When a family or any client continues to come back to me for their photographic needs it feels really special. I'm truly honored to be a part of all of these milestones in my client's lives...first steps, first birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, etc. I had a blast at Aden's birthday party. He was amazing with his birthday cake...dove right into that thing and never looked back! By the end of the night he was all sugared out and ready to crash. That's what first birthdays are all about, right. Enjoy these images from the cake eating festival!

Kevin & Lara : Album

I've got to say...my husband rocks! Jeremy has started doing all of my designing and he is way better than I've ever dreamt of being. He does a lot of graphic design for a couple of businesses in town, motorcross, along with some churches. He has only been doing this since last year but is totally made for it! I am amazed every time he shows me his latest project or job. Kevin & Lara are ordering a coffee table album and Jeremy took on the design for their book. I love what he did with it and can't wait to see the finished product. I'll try to post pictures once I have my copy. For now here are a few of the pages that will appear in their album starting with the cover. Let me know what you think!

Just a quick post while I'm taking a break from editing. Here are a few of the Christmas cards Jeremy & I got to do this year. I think they all turned out so great!
