Ephraim : Home Session

I love my job...I mean actually LOVE it. It's what I always wanted to do for a living. It's what I am truly passionate about. I don't ever see myself tiring of it. I just really really REALLY love my job. :)

I had so much fun with this session that I literally could not tear myself away from the computer. The Neagles are a super rad little family and I feel so privileged that they asked me to help them document their newborn's life. Ephraim looks just like his Daddy...no question. Btw, his Daddy is a rockstar. He's the "Neagle" part of Monk & Neagle. And the way he looks at his Mommy is the sweetest most endearing thing. Home sessions are really a favorite of mine (if not the favorite). This home session is in the running to being one of my favorites of the year (I know...it's only April!). Enjoy.

Just an example of a baby announcement:

Trapper : Senior

"Do you know that episode of Friends where Monica & Chandler are getting their engagement pictures taken and Chandler can't smile normal?" This was my conversation with Trapper's mom a couple of days before his Senior Session. Haha...anyone who knows me knows that I am a Friends freak. I can quote the dialog from any episode word for word and no matter how many times I've seen each and every episode I still watch reruns every day at 6:00 and 10:00. Not to mention that I can be found watching Friends on dvd while editing. It's just one of my many quirks. :)

Trapper is actually not the first person who I have been told right before a session has the "Chandler smile". It's a very common problem. Me...I have the "Anderson fake smile" (Anderson is my maiden name). That's what Jeremy calls it anyway. So I was confident that we could still get some killer pictures out of him "Chandler smile" or no "Chandler smile". So how do you think I did???

Btw, Trapper is a super rad guy. Not only was he digging on the Feist I had playing in my car but he wants to design roller-coasters for a living. Peace + love y'all.

Colleen & Dustin : Album

Albums...they can be completely overwhelming for a photographer and couple. I was less than impressed with some of the leading wedding album companies, not b/c of their products, but mainly because there are TOO MANY choices and crap to figure out in the whole album process. There are so many cover options, sides, imprinting, sizes, flush mount, matted?!?!?! Do I offer all of that to my clients or just give them a hand full of options?!?!? And then comes calculating my cost which requires a lot of adding on the calculator and a few phone calls and/or emails to a rep to make sure I'm doing it right. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Now, obviously, these companies have a lot of photographers who love them otherwise they wouldn't be the "leading" album companies. I'm a girl of simplicity though. The easier it is on me the easier I can make it on my clients.

So, when I read about KISS on another photographer's blog I had to check them out. They have made the album ordering process a breeze! I placed my order for Colleen & Dustin's wedding album about a week ago, outsourcing the design to DoodleDo. I was able to do everything on the KISS website with just one click...album design, printing, and binding. I picked the size (10x10), number of spreads (20), the color (Forbidden Green!), uploaded the images, the fabulous designers at DoodleDo called me the next morning to chat about the design, and in like 3 days we had our first design to approve. One minor image change and the design is ready for print and bind. No guessing, no mystery, just STELLAR service and peace of mind.

Click here to see Colleen & Dustin's wedding album design. I can't wait to see the finished product...it's going to look fabulous! I'll take a few pictures and post the images once I get it in the studio. Peace + Love.

Brooks : Family

Dustin & Colleen are probably my favorite couple ever! I could go on and on about how great it was to work with them on their wedding last November and how much I appreciate them throwing work my way now. They wanted to do a family session at the Ft.Worth Botanical Gardens because Dustin's parents are celebrating an anniversary. We had a lot of fun...it was probably one of the most laid back sessions I have done. I can't wait to work with them again!

Nevaeh : Nostalgia

That's my husband singing...well, screaming actually. He was in a Christian Texas rock band called Nevaeh for several years. They made this video right before he decided to take some time off to make an Ella with me. :) As hard as it was having my husband go on tour(s) while I stayed home to work and pay the bills, there are things I definitely miss about that band and our much simpler way of life. Now we're all grown up with a child, house, 2 car payments, and more responsibility in general. I'm actually proud to say that we are at the point in our young lives that we are but growing up kind of sucks sometimes, too! I want to walk on the California coast with my husband again while he's on a "west coast tour". That just sounds totally rock and roll! Peace + love y'all.

Btw, our church friends who see Jeremy playing sweet praise & worship tunes on Sunday mornings might be a little shocked to see him screaming like this. Isn't it sexy though...haha!
